This is the main tourist hotel in Durrës, located on the long sandy beach to the south. It contains 60 rooms and was built during the Stalin-era. An early reference to the facilities is contained in an article written for ''The Atlantic'' in 1963 by journalist James Cameron. By the time Philip Ward, author of ''Albania: A Travel Guide'', visited in 1982 each bedroom was en suite but was still basic.
